VANESSA DIESELS STORY: I found this little girl around 7-9-08, she was under the front tire of a truck that was about to drive away from a curb. I jumped out screaming to the driver in my usual obnoxious fashion and scooped her up - narrowly escaping the wheels of a semi headed straight for us. I quickly discovered she was covered in gasoline! After a few baths and good meals she seems to be doing better. She was always a bit mellow for a puppy, and might have been harboring a virus. Little did I know.

Healthy! Adopted to a Great Family!

With PARVO they have to be IV everyday. Once she was cured of PARVO then she got Kennel Cough and had to be transfered to a different vet for ISO - this was so she would not cross contaminate the other Parvo Puppies.

I was able to pay off the Kennel Cough Vet and I am still struggling to pay the Parvo Vet. Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Here is Clem Today... Healthy and Happy! Help us continue rescuing! Donate toward our vet medical bills!

BEFORE

In the Harbor Shelter this dog was supposed to be really old - like 12 but after good food and a chance for his hair to grow back in... his teeth and disposition tell a different story, a young dog maybe 3. Kutani is now available for adoption through www.AdoptaChowLA.com.

Kutani is a Samoyed Mix.

"Old Harbor Chow?"

With this one photo (on left) this "old chow" was rescued... his coat MISSING (yes that is pink skin), his ribs showing from starvation...

Penny The Pinned Pit Puppy THE STORY

Penny received donations nationwide to help heal her injuries. She is MORE than ready for a forever home. This high energy 10 month old puppy needs training and some rehab, a nice jog would be good to build up her muscles around her freshly healed legs. You can see the scars from the surgeries.
Her pink, PINK nose and ears are happy and healthy and always smiling. After being kept quiet and locked in a crate as she healed her energy right now is boundless... or so it seems... but she just needs a steady diet of playtime balanced with rest. If you were in bed for a couple of months to heal multiple leg fractures you too would be ready to play, Play, PLAY!

Penny has been fostered by me, living with my two dogs and one cat, with numerous rescued animals both cats and dogs coming through. She has adapted very well. She would not be good around babies or small children as she is a bit rough and tumble.

Please contact Judy about adoption.

You can see the left leg here with the pins. Also notice at the top of her right leg are stitches for the internal pin for the right shoulder.

Notice the back legs. One leg has the pain med patch, which is morphine.the other leg was where the IV site was.

They wheeled her in on a cart. She had a muzzle on because during the transfer to the cart and cleaning she has been nipping, due to pain. But we took the muzzle off and she just licked my face and fingers.

All the vet techs and staff love Penny. They all say she is so sweet and gentle. She remained at the vet to limits her movement while she healed.

........ . .... .

The Vicious Pit Bull Penny. Waiting for a belly rub. Actually she was sleeping like that while my dog Schlimie looked on. --- Penny LOVES it when we rescue puppies. She loves to play, as they both have the same energy level. Play a LOT and sleep a LOT! Her two favorite things!

Schlimie and Penny are very close. So close they sleep all over each other! I turned around from working on the computer to find them SLEEPING like this.

Normally it is more like this.

Penny Pit Pup
Penny was hit by a car and found in a heap on the side of the road trying to move. She was supposed to be taken by animal control but they were talked into going to a vet where they xrayed her and discovered several fractures in both front legs but the vets did not feel qualified to do the complicated surgery. Rescue groups were contacted and no one rescue could take her on the expense would be too high. So a few groups got together and through email they raised the money for the surgery and transported this lucky pup to the vet.

Penny is 10 mos old but small 30 lbs. aprox.
She is a mostly white pit mix. Possibly BULL TERRIER.
Despite her injuries she is LOVING,
and friendly, all the vet techs LOVE her.

She is female and will be spayed.

Are you Interested in this Dog or Puppy?
Before you point to a pet and ask, How Much?
PLEASE READ
We try to MATCH a pet and its personality with YOUR FAMILY and Life Style.
We are animal rescuers, that means we go to the Animal Shelters all over LA County. We pay (up to $200) to adopt out dogs and puppies (kittens and cats).

Then find someone to FOSTER them OR we pay to board them (aprox. $17 a day), we pay for Vet visits, or pay for training and then EACH weekend we hold a pet adoption at a local Pet Supply Store and we accept applications to find a new home for a pet under our care.

We come to YOUR home to check for safety as some rescue animals have special needs. We want a suitable situation for a rescued pet (given its personality) to become a part of YOUR FAMILY.
We are all volunteers. We all have full time jobs. And if we can make a good MATCH an ADOPTION goes through. We ask you to sign a contract. And we ask for a nominal adoption fee (aprox. 1/4 our total cost) to help us rescue the next animal in need.

(If you can increase the donation fee for the animal you are adopting, please do so, if you cannot, please remember us; during the holiday gift giving season and for donations of old towels etc, and other items all rescue groups need. But most importantly PLEASE remember to tell your friends who FALL IN LOVE with your pet {because they will} to ADOPT, don't breed or buy.)
